I am confused about what my "ticket" to virtual IMFF 2020 is - do I need a ticket?

As long as you have registered on Eventbrite and/or received an email about the v-IMFF 2020 from Eventbrite, you  have all the access you need - there is no need to sign in to Eventbrite or do anything further. All further communication about v-IMFF 2020 will be sent to you via an email.

You will get emails for every screening:

  • 1 day before to screening: Zoom Links and Screening Details

  • Half an Hour Prior to Pre-Screening: Zoom Link Reminder

  • 5-10 minutes Prior to Film Screening Time: Vimeo Details and link to review the film.

How will we chat with the film-maker?

Except for The Orphanage (whose director is in Denmark and unfortunately could not make an evening time work), there will be a Live Zoom Q&A with the directors of all feature films. This will be moderated and details will be given on the Zoom call.

How are you ensuring our safety on Zoom?

  • We are trying our utmost to make sure that you have a safe and fun experience. For this reason:

  • All Zoom meetings will be sent ONLY to registered attendees, one day prior to the screening.

  • All meetings will have a password.

  • We are making sure to check against our attendee list every time we admit someone into the meeting.

  • No 2 screenings will have the same meeting.

  • We have 2 team members who are keeping a watchful eye, ready to kick out unwanted intruders from our meeting.

To this end we ask that you:

  • Do not forward any of the IM emails related to the v-IMFF 2020 screening details.

  • Do not share Zoom links over text or email with ANYBODY.

  • Ensure you sign in from a trusted device.

I am not comfortable with Zoom and/or Vimeo. What can I do?

We have made special Training and Tutorial Videos to help guide our members.

Please watch the videos ahead of time to make sure you're ready for our Virtual Film Fest :)

I want to watch Vimeo on my TV. How can I do this?

There are a few ways of doing this. If your TV has an HDMI input then connect your laptop to the TV using an HDMI cable (you may need to buy an adapter for newer Macs) and login to Vimeo and play the film.

Chromecast: Follow the steps below to Chromecast Vimeo to your Apple TV. https://vimeo.com/blog/post/chromecast-vimeo-for-ios-video-viewing-magic/

Otherwise, if you have Roku, Fire Stick or other smart TV devices:

  • Create a Vimeo account.

  • Download the Vimeo app for Roku or Firestick and after download, ensure you log-in to the app.

  • On your laptop, sign-in to Vimeo, go to the Vimeo video link and add it to your "watch later".

  • On the TV app, go to your "watch later" videos and play from there.

Will we have English subtitles?

Yes all videos will have embedded English subtitles, so you don't need to worry about messing around with any subtitles controls.

Where can I learn about the films that are being showcased at v-IMFF?

See our line-up HERE and click through on the film poster for more details.

Where is the schedule and timing of all films?

See our schedule HERE.

What is the Audience Choice Awards? How do we vote?

Every year we have our Audience Choice Awards! This year instead of our typical tear-off chit, we will be sending you a Google form with the details to review the film (on your email). Please use it!! We want our film-makers to know how much you have enjoyed their film.

I can't watch the films at the times specified in the schedule. Can I start watching later? If I miss them at v-IMFF 2020, are these films available to stream online?

We try and bring you exclusive content and at this time (April 2020) none of our shortlisted features is available to stream online on a major streaming platform. Therefore, we only have access to those films at the times specified. Please try and start on time so you don't miss out, we have allowed for a 5 minute delay between end credits and the Q&A start time so you have the flexibility to take a tiny break.

My question was not answered!

Please send an email to info@indiememe.org and we will get back to you soon.
