Brewing a Conversation with Varun Grover

Join us for an intimate evening with acclaimed writer, comedian, and lyricist Varun Grover!  Enjoy a casual meet-and-greet, accompanied by heavy appetizers and drinks, as he shares stories about his creative journey.

Varun Grover is a screenplay writer, director, standup comedian and lyricist based in Mumbai, India. Masaan (2015), his debut feature as a screenplay writer, played in Un Certain Regard section at 68th Cannes Film Festival and went on to win FIPRESCI Jury as well as Promising Future prizes. He is the lead writer and Executive Producer of Netflix India’s critically acclaimed original series, Sacred Games (2018 – 2019). He began his foray into directing with the short film KISS, a witty commentary on the censor board system in India. Varun’s first feature film as a director All India Rank (2023) had its world premiere as the closing film at IFFR 2023 and is now streaming on Netflix globally.
