About the Event
South Asians are the fastest growing minority in the state of Texas but our civic engagement is very low and our legislature does not know us or reflect our interests. We want to strengthen our voice and show that we are highly skilled professionals, creatives, small business owners, neighbors, PTA parents, and contributors to Texas' thriving economy. We need greater representation in our legislative body, and on the Desi Day of Action we want to show them who we are!
What to expect:

Meetings with lawmakers
networking with South Asian changemakers
The purpose of this activity is to educate our community on how to do advocacy work and to introduce ourselves to our own legislators so they can get to know who we are and see that we are a large and fast growing group.
