Hit the Road
Iran I 93 mins I Comedy, Drama I 2021 I Persian w/ English subtitles
In this enthralling feature debut from director Panah Panahi, a family clumsily makes their way across the rugged landscapes of Northern Iran, heading to a mysterious destination.
Half ordinary road-trip (complete with car karaoke, sick dogs, and one very loose-limbed kid) and half- surreal mystery (complete with fog shrouded mountains and strange encounters), HIT THE ROAD is a bold and frequently hilarious exploration of home, family, and the modern experience of displacement.
HIT THE ROAD premiered at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival. It went on to critical acclaim and a flourishing festival run, including screenings in Singapore, Vancouver, Athens, Tokyo, and the London Film Festival, where it won Best Film.
Health & Safety Note:
This is a socially distanced, capacity limited screening. At AFS Cinema, seating is capped at 60% and MASKS are required when not eating or drinking.
