About IMFF@Austin
Since its conception in 2016, The Indie Meme Film Festival has brought the best of South Asian Cinema to Texas screens from our home base in Austin.
Awarded the “Best International Passport" by The Austin Chronicle in 2016, Indie Meme continues to grow as the go to destination for unique, powerful stories from South Asia - with programs from India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Afghanistan, Iran & more offering a slice of life rarely seen in US theaters.

After two years of pioneering virtual festivals, Indie Meme returns to theaters with our first hybrid event. This year, audiences can catch premieres in theaters with us at Austin Film Society from April 14-17th, then enjoy the film library at-home the following weekend.

The in-person event will include film premieres, red carpet events, filmmaker Q&A appearances, member mixers, audience discussions, networking events, and parties - and there will be plentiful opportunities to hear from filmmakers and engage in post-film discussion.

The two festivals weekends will share many of the same titles, but in-person and virtual exclusives will exist.
We look forward to welcoming audiences both locally and nationwide!

COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Since its inception, IMFF@Austin has been funded in part by a grant from the City of Austin. This year Indie Meme is supported by an ARP Grant.
Our generous & engaged members, sponsors, community partners, and audiences have kept our programming going for over 7 seasons, we thank you for supporting our mission!
IMFF is proud to add to the diverse cultural landscape of Austin!
